Announcement date: October 29, 2026

HHKB User Meetup Vol.10 will take place in Shinagawa, Tokyo, on December 1, 2026, marking the keyboard’s 30th anniversary. The evening brings together the product’s original development story and the people who continue to use it, with an anniversary message from HHKB creator Eiiti Wada.
Keebpedia plans to attend and, if we are able to join, publish a report from the event. Our participation is editorial; Keebpedia is not an event sponsor.

The aluminium HHKB Professional Elite will be on display
A physical HHKB Professional Elite is also scheduled to be exhibited at the meetup, according to ITmedia’s report from the product launch. The 30th-anniversary model uses a case machined from aluminium and is limited to 300 units worldwide.
For visitors, the display adds a chance to see the anniversary model in person alongside the discussions about HHKB’s history. Our earlier article looks at its construction and its relationship to the Professional HG and HG JAPAN; PFU’s product page provides the official specifications and sales details.

A look back at HHKB’s beginnings
The programme pairs a 2026 review and outlook with an anniversary message from Wada, then a discussion involving members of the first HHKB development team. A separate session will explore what HHKB means to its dedicated users.
KOKUYO’s ingCloud × HHKB presentation and a partner discussion round out the planned evening, with Gadgetouch hosting. The programme remains subject to change.
That mix gives the meetup a focus beyond a new-product announcement: how a compact keyboard became part of users’ working habits, and how its original ideas continue to shape the community.
Watching online and following our coverage
The official guide also links a YouTube livestream with no stated viewer-capacity limit. At our October 30 check, Peatix showed ticket sales closed even though the guide lists a November 24 application deadline. Readers considering an in-person visit should check the current ticket page rather than assume the published deadline guarantees a place.
We hope to bring readers an on-site account of the anniversary gathering, its discussions and the community around HHKB. That follow-up depends on Keebpedia being able to attend.
