Omnitype has put up a standalone listing for its Hawk Linear switches at US$12.25 per pack of 35, or US$0.35 each. The storefront labels them coming soon. Omnitype’s announcement points readers to the product page for launch alerts and gives no sale date.

From Heron HE to Hawk Linear

Omnitype started its own switch line with Heron HE, a magnetic switch for compatible Hall-effect keyboards. Hawk is the second entry in the standard lineup and brings the bird-named series to conventional MX mechanical builds. Omnitype based its colors on the red-shouldered hawk found in Alabama.

The Hawk was already available as part of the GitHub × Omnitype Bauer Lite Blind Box, which includes 70 switches. The standalone packs will make it available separately from the keyboard kit.

Long-pole construction and a general-purpose sound

Omnitype describes the sound as between marbly and clacky. The company set out to make a versatile switch for different builds, and that description is its own assessment. The announcement specifies a 50 g double-stage spring. The switches are factory-lubed, with the springs left dry.
