CannonKeys scheduled its 21XX extras drop for November 4 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. On November 5, the product page showed the Warm Gray WKL kit at US$850 with Add to Cart enabled. Availability varies by layout and color.

How Pontus reworked the Cherry unsaver

Pontus takes the silhouette of Cherry’s 2XXX workplace keyboards and keeps the navigation cluster while leaving off the numpad. The separate, raised function row is the most visible part of the design. It has a 25.5° angle and its own aluminum plate, while the main typing area sits at 5.5° and uses a PCB top mount.

The WKL version pairs its blocked bottom row with a cross-style navigation cluster. The WK version uses a larger navigation block. Choosing between them changes where the navigation keys sit as well as the bottom row.

What the kit includes

CannonKeys lists a 6063 aluminum case and an assembled weight of about 4.3 kg. The two Cipulot-designed PCBs are solder-only and support QMK and VIA. A ribbon cable connects the main and function-row PCBs, and the kit includes a 5 V solenoid for audible feedback.

The case, function-row plate, PCBs, solenoid, cable and carrying case come with the kit. Plan to supply switches, stabilizers and keycaps. CannonKeys also lists spare PCBs and function-row plates separately, with limited quantities announced for the extras drop.
