Overview
The Kailh Box Black is a linear switch from Kailh's Box series, aimed at budget custom keyboard builds. It combines a polycarbonate top housing, a nylon bottom housing, and a POM stem, with the enclosed Box stem structure reducing lateral wobble and giving the switch an IP56-rated resistance to dust and moisture.
Reviewers place it among the heavier linears in the range, describing a smooth, uniform keystroke with no tactile bump or click.
