The HMX Yamatake is a tactile switch co-designed with XLLAB, built around a long-pole stem paired with a comparatively small, P-shaped tactile bump. Sources describe the feedback as gentle and gradual rather than sharp, closer to a mild Cherry Brown than a pronounced-bump switch like Holy Panda, which makes it approachable for typists coming from linear switches.

A distinctive bottoming-out design, where the stem head lands rather than the stem sides, is credited with giving the switch its bright, clacky acoustic character without heavy resonance. It ships factory-lubed and is aimed at builders wanting a subtle tactile bump with a crisp, clacky sound.
