Overview
The HMX Valerian Light Tactile is a tactile switch designed by Mori and produced on HMX's molds. It pairs a POM top housing and POM stem with a thickened N1 nylon bottom housing, an uncommon combination for the brand. The stem passes through a light, restrained tactile bump rather than a sharp one, while the thickened bottom housing gives a full, loud sound that suits most builds. The top housing accepts HMX's light diffusers, and the switch ships factory lubed.

My first HMX Light Tactile. It comes across as a light tactile with some scratchiness, and it's smooth in the way HMX switches usually are. But it never quite hits that "wow!" moment, which feels like a missed opportunity -- there's no real reason it has to be this particular switch, hence the 2 stars. A moderate tactile bump, moderate scratchy sound, and decent cushioning are all here, but it's missing what usually makes an HMX an HMX. Works better in a foamless board so the light-tactile sound comes through.
