Overview
HMX Sandstorm Tactile is a tactile mechanical keyboard switch built with a polycarbonate top housing, a PA66 nylon bottom housing, and a POM stem. It ships factory-lubed with 205g0 and is known for a pronounced tactile bump that arrives early in the keypress, giving firm, immediate feedback and a bright, clacky sound signature.
The switch uses a redesigned HMX top-housing mold with a wider top opening that increases clearance around the stem, reducing binding for smoother travel.

The bump is about on par with Hydra, but the sound doesn't resonate nearly as much. It lands in an awkward spot -- if you want a loud, tactile experience, I'd point you to Hydra instead. The bump feel is good and it's smooth, but it's missing that one-of-a-kind character -- Hydra had an almost-too-loud resonance, and this doesn't. Works with either Thocky or Clacky, though I'd lean Clacky myself. There's no real reason it has to be this one -- it just felt unremarkable.
