The O-ring style keeps it quiet, but unlike a lot of silent switches it doesn't feel mushy -- the tactile bump comes through cleanly and it's genuinely comfortable to type on. My last Gateron silent switch was the 0 Degree Silent, and the silencing tech has clearly come a long way since then.
The catch is the price: $0.65 each, and the whole Oil King series runs expensive. There's still a trace of mush left in the bump too, so it'll bother anyone sensitive to that. If you're not specifically attached to the O-ring design, it's hard to say this has to be Oil King Purple over a cheaper silent switch -- and at this price, it's tough to argue against "wouldn't something else do just as well?"
