Overview
The Gateron Mars is a linear switch from Gateron built around a POK stem running in a Nylon top housing and a POM bottom housing. It ships factory-lubed, and the POK-on-POM contact gives a smooth, faintly glossy keystroke on the lighter side.
The stem uses a long-pole design, so the switch bottoms out sharply and carries a deep, creamy sound signature. Reviewers place its character near a refined take on Gateron's milky-housed linears, pairing full top-out tones with a pronounced long-pole bottom-out.

Despite the POK housing and long-pole stem, this ends up surprisingly quiet. With 22mm total travel it has enough cushioning that typing on it for a long stretch shouldn't tire you out. Being quiet despite that material and stem combo is interesting on its own, but when I ask myself "is it worth specifically buying this?" the answer's hard, hence this rating. Works with either Thocky or Clacky, though I'd lean Clacky. As noted above, it's fairly quiet, so it's not really built for people chasing loud sound.
