Overview
The Kailh Calligraphy is a linear switch built around an unusual material pairing: liquid crystal polymer top and bottom housings with a melamine formaldehyde stem. Kailh developed dedicated molds for this material combination.
Across retailer listings the switch is described consistently: a clean, clacky, and full sound profile paired with a distinctly textured, faintly scratchy keystroke. It ships factory lubed.

Scratchiness is the whole pitch here. The stem uses melamine resin (MF) and the housing uses LCP (liquid crystal polymer) -- apparently Kailh cut a brand-new mold just for this. And yeah, it does have that scratchy sound. It's smooth for a Kailh, but once you've touched HMX or Keygeek, it doesn't feel like much. In that sense I think it's a fairly unremarkable switch (lol). Smooth -- for a Kailh, at least -- with that scratchy sound Kailh is known for, but I have to ask: did it need to exist? Works better in a foamless keyboard so the light sound comes through, and leans clacky too.
