Overview
The Cherry MX Purple is a tactile switch developed by Cherry in collaboration with keyboard content creator Glarses. It pairs nylon housings with a POM stem and delivers a short, medium-strength tactile bump positioned partway into the keystroke, a feel commonly compared to Cherry's MX Clear.
Built on Cherry's MX2A platform, it ships factory-lubricated with refined mold tolerances. Its stem retains the side nubs found on Clear stems, which some users associate with keycap cracking.

Not very Cherry-like in that the stock spring works fine as-is. The tactile bump is solid -- think of it as a different switch from Brown, not a variant of it. The stem runs tight, which can make keycaps hard to seat, so trim the stem if that bothers you. It keeps Cherry's signature scratchy sound and feel, so being able to run it fully stock and still get that character feels genuinely novel. That said, for bump feel I personally still prefer Brown -- there aren't many light tactiles as close to linear as Brown is, and Purple's bump strength is available elsewhere too. But if you want a strong bump with real scratchiness, this is for you. Works well in a foamless, clacky board.
